Creation Care is creating the sustainable path and in so doing, proclaiming a culture of life for all creation in the Roanoke Valley. "Now might not our own Christian communities themselves become small centers of a sustainable path, small islands of creativity, proclaimers of a culture of life?”
Since the year 2000, we, the parish family of Our Lady of Nazareth have held our wonderful Easter Day celebration at the Salem civic center!
The decision to celebrate Easter at a larger venue was due to the enormous amount of people coming to our church on 419. There were people waiting outside at most of the masses and they weren't worshiping, rather they were just waiting to receive Communion. Fr. Joe and the staff felt that this was not the way to worship; for we are to gather as one body of Christ, visible to each other and participate by listening to God's word, remember those who have gone before us and sharing the Body and Blood of Christ around one table. Thanks to all who make this a very special celebration throughout the years!
Father Joe's Anniversaries
We, the parish family of Our Lady of Nazareth are very grateful for the many years of priestly ministry provided for and to us by Monsignor Joseph P. Lehman. Fr. Joe celebrated his 25th and 35th Anniversaries with the People of Nazareth in honor of his feast day
(St. Joseph the Worker) around May 1st.
Since 1990, Our Lady of Nazareth has been partnered with our twin ministry located in Papaye, Haiti located about 3 miles outside Hinche on Haiti's central plateau.
The Ecole Papaye Normale is a teachers school that we have supported for many years through monetary donations, computer support and capital improvements.
Logos Theatricus (Theater of the Word) Productions is a 501 (3)(c) not for profit ecumenical theatrical company com-prised of actors of all ages from the Roanoke Valley.
